Crochet Ball Pattern

Good morning!
I found a pattern for a cute little crinkly ball and couldn’t wait to get out my hook and yarn and get to work! I made this little ball for one of my sweet nephews who is here for a visit. It didn’t take very long, so I will probably make a couple more for him.
The yarn I used was Peaches & Cream and I just stuffed it with a couple of plastic shopping bags (you know, the kind that you get by the thousands when you go shopping).
Anyway, here is the pattern!
Hook size “H”
Cotton Yarn (1 ball)
Stitch Marker
Yarn Needle
Stuffing:  2 plastic shopping bags
ch=chain
sc=single crochet
st=stitch
sc2tog=single crochet 2 together (insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull up a loop, insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook)
Round 1:  ch 2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook.
*Beginning with Round 2, place your marker in the first stitch of each round.*
Round 2:  2 sc in each sc
Round 3:  (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) around
Round 4:  (sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st) around
Round 5:  Repeat Round 4
Round 6:  sc in each st
Rounds 7-12:  Repeat Round 6
Round 13:  (sc2tog, sc in next 2 st) around
Round 14:  (sc2tog, sc in next st) around
*Stuff with bags*
Round 15:  sc2tog around
Round 16:  Repeat Round 15
Finishing:  Leave 6 inches of yarn and fasten off, then weave it through the opening using the yarn needle.

Enjoy!

Granny Stripe Blanket

I have a completed project! YAY! I am TERRIBLE about starting but not finishing lots of things, but this time I actually finished!! This is a Granny Stripe blanket for my sweet nephew’s 1st birthday. The pattern came from this blog. http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/granny-stripe.html (I changed up the border just a bit by using a sc when called for a sl st and a dc when called for a sc)

My inspiration for the color combination came from his baby bag. I love madras plaid and I think this blanket captures the feel of it very well.

Colors used:
Red, Ivory, Spruce Green, Orange, White, Baby Blue, and Navy.

Thanks for stopping by!

For the Love of Granny Squares

I LOVE to crochet. In fact, I would say that crocheting is my therapy. When I am stressed or in need of ideas for a project I am working on, I pull out my crochet hook and some cute yarn and I am able to clear my mind. I'm sure there are MANY out there who can agree with me.
Anyway, my current obsession is Granny Squares. I am IN LOVE! There are so many projects out there for those cute little squares...it makes my head spin!

Well, for those of you who are loving these little jewels as much as me, I have rounded up some inspiration.

A New Blog

I have a blog devoted to all things family {I'm sad to say that I don't update it nearly enough}, but I have so wanted to change it up a bit, so after really messing it up after many attempts to change the blog, I have decided to just start from scratch, and Voila! I have a beautiful, brand new blog to take up all my time! Ahem…what I meant to say was….I now have a beautiful, brand new blog to share ALL of my crafty ideas!

I hope that someone out there who loves crafty and vintagy, shabby-chic things as much as I do stumbles upon this blog and leaves inspired.

Have a happy day!
